“Gayatri” is my first recorded sonic essence* for public release. Given the times we are collectively living through, love moves me to offer it.

The venerable Gayatri mantra is a meditation on spiritual light. It is considered to be the essence of all mantras; its purpose is to uplift human consciousness.

The base of “Gayatri” is a field recording of me chanting 108 repetitions of the long form of the Gayatri mantra during a dawn chorus outside my home in Carrboro, North Carolina. I transformed this recording into a shining, ambient soundscape suitable for playing during meditation, yoga, bodywork, quiet work, cloud-watching, daydreaming, stargazing, gardening, contemplation, and/or slipping into other worlds.

Each time you play “Gayatri,” you are helping uplift all of human consciousness.

* A sonic essence is a blend of ritual, mantra, and vibrational support for the incredible transitions and times we are living through. In 2019, I had the idea to treat my own body as the final distillation medium for flower essences I had created during key astrological gateways of the year. I realized I could deliver these tinctures sonically, and I named the resulting audio tracks "sonic essences." Since then, I've been creating sonic essences privately for individuals and for myself, and I recently debuted them during live performances. They’re powerful and beneficial for a variety of purposes.

"Gayatri" includes two flower essences I created: SPELLBREAKER (breaks pattern of self-absorption, relaxes the brain and balances the left and right hemispheres, opens deeper forms of meditation, eases insomnia, awakens true power through surrender to the divine) and NEXT WORLD (strong energy of change, adapt and endure, overcome and learn from the past, embrace the new, awakens confidence, draw upon greater power, stimulates creativity and dreams).
